Ordering a custom fragrance gives you a front row seat to how perfume is really made, and the ear of our experienced founder and perfumer. When you buy bespoke perfume online with CELIE & COUCH, your perfume will be perfectly tailored to your needs and beliefs. We can make your perfume vegan or halal, adjust the concentration for sensitive skin, go all natural if you hate synthetics, design your perfume for specific people and settings, use sustainable ingredients/packaging… we could go on but you get the picture. The design process begins with a call to learn what you want your perfume to smell like and what you want your perfume to say. It’s okay if you don’t know yet, the next stage develops your perfume through an iterative process, giving you plenty of opportunities to make changes. It’s then our job to make your final custom perfume design as safe as something on the high street- before bottling and shipping your scent to you. Your bottle and packaging can come from us or something designed or owned by you. Personalised perfume is the ultimate gift for loved ones, acting as both a celebration of who they are and a fun opportunity to learn who they are and bond. STEP 1.
CONSULTATION.
When you complete your order you'll be emailed a consultation form. Fill out the form above with as much detail as possible. The form will be kept confidential.
The more specific (i.e. ingredients, memories, places, emotions), the more accurately your vision will be executed.
I'll also reach out to introduce myself, and schedule a time to discuss your vision in more detail.
STEP 2.
ITERATION.
Your personalised perfume will then be crafted in a series of confidential consultations.
We'll agree a list of priority and prospective ingredients. As many of these as possible will be included in the final scent.
3-5 draft samples will be formulated and posted to you (at your expense) to try. This is the first pass, and you you get up to three. More can be requested, but this incurs a small charge.
Pick the best among them and confirm with any requested changes. The more specific you can be (namely, the scent's structure, balance, sillage, texture and feeling) the better.
STEP 3.
WEAR.
You get your exclusive perfume. Nobody else will have it.
Your perfume will be shipped to you (at your expense) with tracked delivery.

How can I trust that you’ll get my scent right?
Because we have done it before for individuals, as well as indie and established brands.
Our design process isn’t one and done, it’s an iterative process that fleshes out your design over several rounds of samples.
We can go as commercial or niche as you like. We’ve designed perfumes in both high street and indie styles, made dupes, even recreated meals as scents (in this case, caramel chicken).
Do I need experience to create my own perfume?
No experience is needed. Our founder and perfumer Jord guide you through each step, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable creative process.
How will I know that the perfume you’ve made me is safe?
All of our perfumes adhere to IFRA guidelines. In the UK and EU, we will also register your perfume and get an independent safety assessment report to verify your perfume is not toxic to you or others.
In the consultation phase, a list of any allergens for you and any loved ones/colleagues will be requested. We can find hypoallergenic variants if you love a smell you’re allergic to
Can you travel to me to make my scent?
We’re an online only business but we can travel to you (on your dime) with our fragrance kit. It’s best to block out at least 4 hours so we get everything we need.
We won’t be able to bring everything, so it’s a good idea to send a list of favoured perfumes and ingredients to help us prepare.
While we’re with you, we’ll create several perfume drafts based on ingredients of your choosing, each draft an iteration from the last.
How do you make bespoke perfume if you’re an online perfume brand?
The Post Office! We’ll send you several drafts in a box and you choose the best one. Based on your feedback, we’ll design and send the next drafts until we finalise your design for the safety assessors. This can take less
Do you do discounts for multiple scents?
Unfortunately not, though try to understand this is a labour intensive process with a very small team.
We care about your design and we care about what we do, so we take the time and budget to get it right.
Do you do bespoke perfume refills?
Yes! We can post regular samples out to you with our refill subscription service. You can even send in or request bottles of your choice if you want a certain design.
Can I customize the packaging for my perfume?
Absolutely. From bottle selection to custom labels, you can tailor the packaging to reflect your personal style.
Do you do perfume dupes?
We take a nuanced view on tropes but feel uneasy copying existing scents on the market unless you make them your own.
If duping a discontinued or reformulated perfume, please note that this is often for a safety reason. You may not get the full scent you want due to certain banned ingredients in the original (though analogues can sometimes be found).
Do you do perfume commissions for events and businesses?
Yes! Past clients have included a restaurant chain for a product launch event, and product development for a scent blending concept brand.
How long will my bespoke perfume take and can you work to deadline?
Bespoke perfume designs can take from 6-12 weeks depending on the length of perfume ageing process (longer is better) between iterations.
